September 2007: One year ago Iceland started again with commercial whale hunting. Due to the protests from environmentalist and the lack of demand for whale meat the Icelandic government now stopped it again. Since 1st of September whale hunting is not allowed anymore. The Icelandic tourism industry is very glad about this, especially the organisers of whale watching tours.
